Okta Engineer – Identity & Access Management
We’re looking for a skilled and proactive Okta Engineer to join our client and lead the way in integrating applications, automating identity lifecycle processes, and enhancing our overall Identity & Access Management (IAM) capabilities.
In this role, you will be at the center of the identity strategy – working across teams to ensure secure, efficient, and seamless access to critical business systems. You'll help build scalable identity solutions using Okta Identity Cloud, SCIM provisioning, and governance workflows that improve both security and user experience.
In this role, you will be responsible for driving both the technical and strategic aspects of the clients identity integration efforts. You’ll work closely with business and technical teams to onboard internal and third-party applications into Okta, configuring and deploying integrations using SAML, OIDC, and SCIM. A key part of your work will be enabling SCIM-based provisioning, allowing for automated user and access lifecycle management. Throughout, you’ll ensure that all integrations are secure, stable, and aligned with the internal security and compliance standards.
You’ll also support and enhance identity governance and lifecycle processes across the organization. This includes automating key lifecycle events—such as onboarding, role changes, and offboarding (Joiner, Mover, Leaver)—and defining role-based access control (RBAC) models and approval workflows. You'll contribute to regular access reviews and certification efforts, helping to reduce manual effort, eliminate errors, and improve audit readiness through automation.
Collaboration is at the core of this role. You’ll act as a bridge between IT, Security, and business application owners, providing both strategic insight and technical guidance during the onboarding of new applications. Your ability to clearly explain identity governance principles to both technical and non-technical stakeholders will be crucial to ensuring successful adoption and long-term impact
For this role, you will be employed by Nexer Tech Talent but work at the client.
Desired qualifications:
- Hands-on experience with Okta Identity Cloud (SSO, MFA, SCIM, Lifecycle Management)
- Experience integrating applications with SAML, OIDC, OAuth2, and SCIM
- Proven ability to implement and manage SCIM provisioning and automated lifecycle workflows
- Solid understanding of identity governance concepts
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work across both technical and business teams
- Experience with documentation, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement
