Functional safety engineer to global company
Do you want to help shape the future of robotics and safety-critical systems? We are looking for a Functional Safety Engineer with a strong technical background in embedded development and a passion for safety in advanced automation and robotics.
As a Functional Safety Engineer, you will play a key role in the development of safety-critical features within robotic technology. You’ll work cross-functionally within our technical team to ensure our products meet relevant safety standards and regulatory requirements.
Your focus will be on functional safety in time-critical and safety-classified systems, where both software and hardware must operate flawlessly together. Success in this role requires strong collaboration skills, the ability to work independently, and a structured and proactive approach.
In this role, you will be actively involved in the entire development process of safety-critical systems. Your responsibilities include driving and participating in requirements engineering, conducting risk analyses, and performing thorough testing to ensure functional safety. You will develop embedded software in C/C++ for safety-critical applications and ensure that system designs adhere to relevant standards such as ISO 13849 and ISO 10218. Additionally, you will work closely with certification bodies, taking the lead in documentation and validation processes. Throughout the product lifecycle—from design and development to testing and certification—you will play a key role in securing the safety and reliability of our systems.
All work is conducted on-site in Västerås, where you’ll collaborate with leading experts in the field.
