Senior Data Engineer to major automotive client

Do you want to help build a modern cloud-based data platform at one of Sweden’s largest automotive companies? In this role, you’ll be a key member of a BI/Analytics team driving the transition from legacy systems to a new AWS-based solution. You’ll work with data pipelines, reporting in Power BI, and ensure the business has access to accurate decision support in a rapidly evolving system landscape. About the role

Our client is one of Sweden’s largest vehicle importers, delivering around 10 million vehicles to customers worldwide. For the past year, they’ve been implementing a modern data platform built on AWS. In parallel, a wide-scale transformation of the system landscape is underway, replacing many of the existing systems.

To support this transition, the BI/Analytics team is now growing. The team’s core responsibilities include:

Ingesting data from legacy systems into the new platform

Creating Power BI reports that replace legacy reports in Report Manager and Qlik Sense — often consolidating multiple old reports into one, and incorporating new requirements

Harmonizing data to ensure consistent tracking and reporting across old and new source systems

Incident management, with minimal development on the legacy solution

The team practices smart working — a hybrid setup with a few days per week onsite at the office in Södertälje, and the rest remote. The assignment starts immediately or in August, with an initial contract through the end of the year and the possibility of extension.

We're looking for someone who has

At least 5 years of experience designing and building scalable data pipelines in a modern, cloud-based data platform for analytics or advanced analytics

Experience with AWS and the DBT tool

A proactive mindset, with the ability to suggest improvements and share knowledge with the team

Experience in data modeling

Strong troubleshooting skills and a solution-oriented approach

Experience working in large, complex projects

Fluency in English (Swedish skills are a plus)
